The fire in my body
Is on the fingerprint
Of my right hand
That burns the pen
That writes the story of this soul
Out of the corner of my eye
I see the consuming fire
As well as the exit sign
Above the red door
Subtle reminder of
orange hours
He allocated
No less . . .
No more . . .
Embracing the fire
Writing for my life
Leaving a fingerprint
Before my exit
the soul of a sunflower

sunflowers still shine
still smile
even on foggy mornings
when they can't
see the sun
their existence is drenched with
the mist
the rain
provided by the One
blooming beautifully
dancing gracefully
content wherever planted
you, beautiful sunflower
drench your soul
with promises provided by God
bloom from seeds of love
planted in your heart long ago
dance with joy in the purpose
composed for you
be content in the fields
where God has planted you
provide petals of hope
and encouragement to those
sharing your space
face
your soul to
the Son,
oh beautiful sunflower
. . . smile
. . . shine
